"Have Books - Will Travel," the library's homebound service, provides free delivery and pick-up of library materials to residents of incorporated Palos Heights who cannot get to the Library due to temporary or permanent illness or disability. Residents of nursing homes and assisted living facilities in Palos Heights also qualify.
To request this service, simply call the Library at (708) 448-1473 and ask for the Public Services Desk. You can also pick up a brochure at the Library, fill out the enrollment form, and return it. You will be asked to answer some basic questions regarding your reading preferences, the best time to contact you, and when you would like deliveries. Also, a Palos Heights Library card is required to take advantage of our homebound service. If necessary, a staff member will come to your home to gather the information needed and deliver your card on the next visit.
All Library materials that circulate are available, including books (large print and paperback), magazines, audiobooks on CD and Playaways, music CDs and movies on DVD. You can request specific titles or a librarian can make selections for you. In addition, items can also be ordered from other libraries through interlibrary loan. If you have reference questions, we are happy to research them and get back to you with answers.
The Palos Heights Library is proud to offer homebound service to our community. We encourage all residents, family members, and caregivers to promote participation in "Have Books - Will Travel."
