Family Programs

Library Web Calendar - Online Registration is here!

Starting January 5th, you can register for all library programs through the Online Programs Calendar on our website, www.palosheightslibrary.org/palos-library-calendar.html. Browse the calendar to see descriptions of upcoming programs. Programs that require registration will be underlined. Click on the program you would like to attend, enter your information in the registration area, and you are set. You can register for programs any time of the day, even when the Library is closed. If you have any questions, ask at the Adult Services Desk or the Youth Services Desk.

ScribbleJim and ScribbleJayne of ScribbleMonster - Saturday, January 14 at 10am

All Ages. Share some creative musical playtime with ScribbleJim and ScribbleJayne of ScribbleMonster. Named a “Parenting Pick” by Parenting Magazine, ScribbleMonster’s creative play music concerts stimulate creative expression and showcase each child’s unique abilities. Sing, think, play, dance and get creative with ScribbleMonster.

National Puzzle Day - Sunday, January 29, 1pm-4pm

All ages. Celebrate National Puzzle Day by dropping by our Story Time Room to play with puzzles and make one of your own.

Dad's Super Bowl of Books - Saturday, February 4 at 10am

All ages. Bring your dad or adult and get ready for the Super Bowl with football stories, activities and snacks.

The Trial of Goldilocks - Saturday, February 25 at 2pm

Performed by the Children’s Theatre of Western Springs, this exciting comedy examines the familiar fairy tale from three points of view: the traditional story, the Bears’, and then Goldilocks’. Complete with an ensemble of comedic courtroom characters, this charming production is perfect for audiences of all ages.

Homework Help Illinois and Shmoop

Help your kids get a jump start on studying with Homework Help Illinois and Shmoop Test Prep.

Homework Help Illinois is an online tutoring service provided by Tutor.com. Students are able to log on daily between 2pm and 9pm to connect with an expert tutor in a variety of subjects, including K-12 studies, introductory-level college courses and adult learners. You can access Homework Help Illinois through the Online Databases page on our website.

Shmoop provides online ACT and SAT test prep and is free to Palos Heights card holders. You can create an account by visiting www.shmoop.com/signup/palos-heights and entering your library card number.

Museum Adventure Pass

The Macy's Museum Adventure Pass program provides free admission to 17 unique cultural destinations throughout the Chicago area to library card holders at over 140 suburban public libraries. A limited number of passes are available for each organization and are available on a first-come, first served basis. Admission offers vary per museum. Check the list of museums for details on each cultural destination at www.museumadventure.org.
