Free Downloadable Books @ Your Library -

Wednesday, January 11 at 6:30pm & Wednesday, February 8 at 2pm - Did you get an E-reader for Christmas? Wondering how it works? Come to this class and learn how the Library can provide free access to thousands of audiobooks, e-books, and other downloadable items through Media On Demand. Different devices including tablets, the Kindle, and other E-readers will be discussed, and a demo will be given using an iPad. Learn about software, device compatibility and the checkout process. A Q&A session will follow the presentation.

Internet Basics -

Tuesday, January 17, 2pm & Monday, February 20, 2pm - Learn about the Internet and the powerful applications that drive today's communication and commerce, such as browsers, email and websites. Special focus will be on the terminology and the Library's website. Public Service Librarian, Bruce Sullivan, will teach this one hour hands on class. Class is limited to 6 students. Pre-registration is required.

The iPhone/iPad Revolution
Monday, January 30 at 6:30pm
Sit back and enjoy this fun and interactive program/demonstration of the Apple iPhone and iPad with Tech Specialist Jack Waddick. These Pocket PCs have thousands of apps spanning business, education, entertainment, sports, travel, weather and more. You will be amazed at all these devices can do. This program includes “live” demos. No technical mumbo jumbo, and plenty of time to ask questions!

Facebook & Twitter
Thursday, February 16 at 2pm
“Social media” is a way to communicate with friends and colleagues using the internet sites of Facebook & Twitter. Facebook is a quick and easy way to connect with friends. Learn how to set up a Facebook account and profi le. You can create “wall posts” or use the inbox to send private messages to a specifi c recipient. Enhance your comments by attaching website addresses, photos and videos (YouTube) with just a few clicks. Create “groups” and use “event pages” to post information. Lecture will include an introduction to Twitter; starting with how to setup an account, how to connect a Twitter account to your facebook page and how to tweet messages.

One-in-One Computer Training
