Thanks to an anonymous donation, patrons can now check out a Nook, Sony Reader or Kindle. Stop by the Adult Services desk for details.

MediaOnDemand Downloadable Audiobooks
modwebgraphic.gif Download digital audio books and more to your iPod or other MP3 player from www.mediaondemand.org. You can check out up to five titles at a time, and after the loan period is finished, he title is automatically “returned” to the library!

Once Upon a Time, There Was a Librarian Named Mary...
After 10 years as Head of Youth Services, Mary Cullen is retiring. On Sunday, September 26th from 2pm to 4pm, with a special program at 3pm, the Library will host a reception honoring Mary and giving the community a time to wish her the best during her next chapter.

Documentary Sunday! - October 10 at 2pm
Young @ Heart documents the true story of the final weeks of rehearsal for the Young at Heart Chorus in Northampton, MA.

October is Illinois Arts Month
8th Annual Palos Reads - Tues, October 26 at 7pm at Palos Heights Library

Join Palos Fine Arts, the Palos Park Public Library, the Palos Heights Public Library, and the Green Hills Public Library District in October for a program featuring Chicago area author, Brigid Pasulka. Ms. Pasulka has written the book A Long, Long Time Ago & Essentially True.

Special Adults Event - Sun, October 17, 2pm to 4pm
A reception will be held for the artists who have their work displayed in the Library: June Anhalt, Anne Farley Gaines, and Pat Coffman Huss. Meet the artists and view more of their works. Refreshments will be served.

Special Childrens Event - Thurs, October 7 at 7pm
Author Monica Joyce and Illustrator Anne Farley Gaines of the book Annie Bananie will be at the Library as part of Illinois Arts Month with Palos Fine Arts.
