Disney On Ice Ticket Raffle
The Palos Heights Public Library is raffling off a Family 4-Pack of
tickets for Disney on Ice Shows from January 20th - February 2nd, 2010. The raffle will be held between January 3rd and January 17th at the Youth Services Desk.

MediaOnDemand Downloadable Audiobooks
modwebgraphic.gif The Palos Heights Public Library recently joined with nine other area libraries to form a new service called "MediaOnDemand." Now you can download best selling digital titles 24/7 to your PC, or supported mobile device at home, in the office or from anywhere in the world. To access MediaOnDemand all you need is a Palos Heights Library card. You can have up to five titles checked out and five items on hold at any given time. The Library has a dedicated computer "station" for patrons to download titles to their own devices. Visit the MediaOnDemand website at www.mediaondemand.org to browse the online catalog and to learn more about downloading specific titles.

Sunday Movie Matinee
The Dish - January 3 at 2pm

The Dish, a good-natured and effortlessly funny Australian drama-comedy directed by Rob Sitch (The Castle), is filled with warm-hearted characters and has a factual hook that’s irresistibly inspiring. Rated PG-13; 100 minutes.

Friends of the Library Winter Book & Magazine Sale
February 5 - February 8
The next Friends book sale is February 5th through the 8th. Friday, February 5th will be the Friends preview night from 5:30pm to 8pm. You must be a Friends member to attend. The sale will be open to the public: Saturday 9am to 4pm, Sunday 1pm to 4pm and Monday will be a bag sale from 9am to Noon. All bags will be priced at $3.50. Bundles of withdrawn library magazines will be $1.00. The Friends are currently taking donations of gently used books, magazines one year old or newer, videos, DVD’s and CD’s. We are sorry, but we cannot accept donations of materials in poor condition, Readers Digest Condensed books, text books over 2 years old and encyclopedias more than 10 years old.

Friends Upcoming Fundraisers
The Friends will be conducting fundraising events in January and February. On January 27th, use your coupon at Bon a Pit restaurant in Palos Heights and 10% of your bill will be donated to the Library. On February 24th, Jullianni’s will honor the same promotion - present your Library coupon and 10% of your bill will be donated to the Friends. Coupons can be found in your newsletter. Please support the Friends!
