The Palos Heights Public Library is proud to announce our homebound program: Have Books - Will Travel
This program provides free delivery and pick-up of library materials to homebound patrons. Who qualifies for this service? Individuals who reside in incorporated Palos Heights who are unable to get to the library due to temporary or permanent illness, and those living in nursing homes or assisted living facilities within Palos Heights.
How do I request this service? There are two ways to request this service. The first way is to simply call the library at (708) 448-1473 and ask for Public Services. You will be asked to answer some basic questions regarding your reading preferences, the best time to contact you and when to make deliveries. The second way is to pick up a Have Books - Will Travel brochure at the library and fill out the enrollment section. These brochures are available at the circulation desk.
What type of library materials are available? All library materials that circulate are available for our homebound patrons: books - including regular print, large print, and paperback, magazines, books on tape and compact disc, music on compact disc, as well as videotapes and DVDs. Patrons may ask for specific materials, or make a general request and let a librarian staff member make the selections. We are also able to obtain materials from other libraries through interlibrary loan. In addition, reference inquiries can also be answered.
The library is proud to offer this service to residents of our community. We encourage family members and caregivers to help us promote participation in this program. (Funded by a grant provided by LSTA) Download Homebound Delivery Form
