Have Books - Will Travel PDF Print E-mail

This program provides the free delivery and pick-up of library materials to homebound patrons.

Who qualifies for this service?
Individuals who reside in incorporated Palos Heights who are unable to get to the library due to temporary or permanent illness, and those living in nursing homes or assisted living facilities within Palos Heights.

How do I request this service?
There are two ways to request this new service. The first way is to simply call the library at (708) 371-6004 and ask for Public Services. You will be asked to answer some basic questions regarding your reading preferences, the best time to contact you and to make deliveries. The second way is to pick up a Have Books – Will Travel brochure at the library and fill out the enrollment section. These brochures are available at the Circulation desk.

What type of library materials are available?
All materials that circulate are available to our homebound patrons:
books - including large print, magazines, books on tape, books on compact disc, music, as well as videotapes and DVD’s. Patrons may ask for specific materials, or make a general request and let a library staff member make the selections. We are also able to obtain materials from other libraries through interlibrary loan. In addition, reference inquiries can also be answered.

The library is proud to be able to provide this new service to our patrons. We encourage family members and caregivers to help us enroll participants.
